PHOTONEWS: 13 Edo State indigenes ( 9 Boys & 4 Girls) were arrested in Kano with fake international passport en route to Libya.


The suspects, including four women, were arrested in Kano by police on their way to Libya, with fake Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) passports.
State police commissioner, Musa Katsina informed Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of this during a special visit to the State police command.


The governor was shocked to see the young and energetic youth conducting such a mission. Urging the police commissioner to do more for the safety and security of the state and the nation in general.
When asked during the tour by the governor the young people confirmed that they were on their way to Libya en route Kano.

According to the police commissioner a total number or 1068 cartons of unregistered intoxicating drugs estimated at N600,000,000 were intercepted by the command.


"A large quantity of cocaine powder with estimated value of N2b, 32 bags and 532 parcels of Indian hemp valued at N2.5m were also intercepted by this command, " Mr. Katsina reveals.
In all 45 suspects were arrested, with 8 firearms, 23 motor vehicles, 250 bags of rice, 43 motorcycles, 13 international passports, 41 cows, 12 goats, and 7 sheep were among the things recovered
Apart from the properties, animals and drugs recovered, there were N13,782,000 that were displayed as exhibits.

During his speech Governor Ganduje further expressed his dissatisfaction over the way courts handle criminal cases of such magnitude, lamenting that, "this time around we will look into all these cases. We will collect all their names and will definitely follow the case in courts. "
"Let everyone know that, this government is interested in these cases. anything short of justice will be followed diligently by this administration, " Governor Ganduje stated.
