Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has approved the compulsory retirement of Mr. Augustine Ebareko Akhuamhekhun, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Public Utilities from Edo State Civil Service. In a letter signed by the Secretary to State Government, Prof Julius Ihonvbere, dated February 19, 2016, the retirement is with immediate effect.

APC earmarks N75 billion to rig Edo gubernatorial polls
As Edo people prepare to elect Governor Oshiomhole's successor reports reaching our Paris newsroom have it that the ruling All Progressives Congress has been turned into a jittery nervous wreck.

The Great Benin Kingdom 1180-1897.
The Benin Empire was a pre-colonial empire located in what is now southern Nigeria. Its capital was Edo, now known as Benin City, Edo. It should not be confused with the modern-day country called Benin, formerly called Dahomey. The Benin Empire was "one of the oldest and most highly developed states in the coastal hinterland of West Africa, dating perhaps to the eleventh century CE", until it was annexed by the British Empire in 1897.
